The 40-year-old man (names withheld) who according to York’s Magistrate court documents was accused of rape and acquitted, must notify the nearest police station each time he plans on having sex with a woman so that officers can make sure that the relationship is consensual.
Despite his acquittal, the court extended a sexual order for four months.
The sexual order requires the man to reveal any planned sexual activity to the police or face up to five years in prison. The man must provide the police with the woman’s address, phone number and date of birth.
At the next court hearing, a judge will decide whether the temporary order should be made into a full order, which has a minimum duration of two years and can last forever.
