Okra, also known as “lady’s fingers” and “gumbo,” is a green flowering plant. Okra belongs to the same plant family as hibiscus and cotton. The term “okra” most commonly refers to the edible seedpods of the plant.
Okra possess anti-diabetic properties, namely that the viscosity of okra’s carbohydrates helps to slow the uptake of sugar into the blood by reducing the rate at which sugar is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, thereby reducing the glycemic load of glucose in the blood that can disrupt the body’s ability to properly process the sugars

ReplyDeleteWow, thank you for this! I'm not diabetic but I think this is a great method to normalize and keep in check our blood sugar and all. Ever since I've finished with the 3 Day Military diet, I was so glad to be able to wean away myself from sugar, do calorie counting and practice portion control. The set meals are awesome and inexpensive and provide me with lots of fruits, veggies and lean meat. I've also learned how to drink lots of water and infuse my water with fruits and veggies. Tomorrow, it will be okra water! For more of the diet look here http://3daysmilitarydiet.com/effect/3-day-diet-menu.html
